December 17, Juche 103 (2014) marks the 3rd anniversary of the sad demise of His Excellency Comrade KIM JONG IL, General Secretary of the Workers’ party of Korea, Chairman of National Defense Commission of the DPRK, Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army and the Great Leader of the Korean People.
The entire Korean people along with progressive and peace-loving people of the world are observing and commemorating the memory of the great leader Comrade KIM JONG IL as the Korean nation’s holiday and also view them as great occasions for commemoration.
Born on Mt. Paektu, (1942 -2011) the sacred Mountain of the Korean revolution His Excellency KIM JONG IL grew up in the flames of the anti-Japanese war and worked with the great leader President KIM IL SUNG for many years as his greatest Comrade-in-arms and most faithful assistant in advancing the revolution and construction.
To commemorate the third anniversary of Comrade KIM JONG IL’s untimely demise in a suitable manner, Nepal Committee to Commemorate 3rtd anniversary of the sad demise of Comrade KIM JONG IL has been formed today under the Honorary Chairmanship of H.E. Neelam K. C., Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare and Hon. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Secretary General of UCPN (Maoist) whose Chairman is Hon. C. P. Mainali, Secretary General of CPN (M.L.) followed by Dr. Manju Ratna Sakya as its General Secretary and Mr. Phanindra Raj Pant as its Member Secretary. Prof. Nil Bir Singh Kansakar, Miss Daya Singh, Mr. Ram K. Karmacharya, Mr. Subash Kaji Shrestha Mr. Basant Shrestha, Mr. Shanker Bharati, Mr. Pramod Sedhain, Mr. B.K. Newa, Dr. Gopal Pokharel ‘Biwash’ and Mr. Binod Adhikari are its members.
The committee has unanimously decided to observe memorial day by organizing various memorial activities such as book and photo exhibition, film show and talk programs and publishing some articles in central newspapers aimed at highlighting the life and immortal contributions and great exploits of Comrade KIM JONG IL characterized by his devoted services to the Korean people and the cause o the global independence and socialism.
The committee has also decided to express its solidarity to the Korean people’s struggle to achieve early independent and peaceful reunification of Korea and to build strong and prosperous socialist country under the brilliant leadership of Marshal KIM JONG UN, First Secretary of the Worker’s Party of Korea, First Chairman of National Defense Commission of DPRK and the Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army.
