NJA Lands to Its Own Building

NJA Desk, May 3, 2012

NJA Lands to Its Own Building
Breaking the history of the Nepalese journalism, Nepal Journalists Association (NJA) became the very first non-governmental organization in the field of journalism that has been able to set up its own building.

One of the active professional organizations NJA bought a house at Jana Prabhat Marg, Kalimati (Behind Salt Trading Ltd.) worth of 6.6 million rupees. The new house has two and a half storey.

The dream of having its own building of NJA was realized after NJA sold its two ropanies of land located at Harihar Bhawan of Pulchowk to one of the public enterprises—Employers’ Provident Fund of HM Govt of Nepal.

To mark the entry into the house, an auspicious religious function was organized at the premises of the new house on 17th September, 2004. At the grand function, besides the journalists, various personalities from different occupations including Hon Mr Salim Miya Ansari, Chairman of Samajbadi Party Nepal and former Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation were also present.
